Before launching The Space Defined in 2020, founder Carrie Higgins served as a nurse in the Navy.

The Space Defined began five years ago as a professional organizing business, helping busy families bring order to their homes. After two years of hands-on organizing, we saw a consistent problem: storage spaces built by contractors and builders often looked fine on the surface but failed to function in everyday life. That experience inspired us to pivot into custom storage solutions—because we know firsthand what works, what doesn’t, and how to design spaces that truly make daily routines easier.
